LES FAMILIES--- LES Fall Picture remakes and Group Pictures are tomorrow. Group pictures must be paid for on Picture day.

MCHS STUDENTS AND PARENTS-All students who drive or are picked up from MCHS will be dismissed at 2:00 PM tomorrow, October 29th. Buses will run at regular dismissal time “2:50 PM”. We will be on afternoon assembly schedule so that classroom instruction is not affected. This early dismissal is to accommodate the Cross Country Meet parking needs.

The Lafayette Lions Club is conducting their yearly Drug Essay Contest for students in Macon County (Lafayette and Red Boiling Springs). The original Essay Form that was sent out earlier was the incorrect form. The picture included with this announcement is the correct form. This form was taken to the schools on October 24. The Drug Essay Contest is due December 13 and all entries will be picked up at the student’s school. The Drug Essay Contest is for students in junior high and high school. First place winners at the junior high level and at the high school level will receive a cash prize. Please see the picture of the form for rules of the contest. Winners at each level will go on to compete in the district level. Last year Macon County was very proud to have a first, second and third place winner at the district level in the essay contest. We would love to have lots of participants again this year. We have very talented students in Macon County! If you have any questions or need any forms, please contact Teresa Gregory at 615-888-6388. Term 1 Report Cards 2024-2025 are now available in Skyward Parent and Student Access under the Portfolio area of the website and app. Anyone who needs access to their Parent Skyward Account, please email the parent name and student name(s) to skywardhelpdesk@maconcountyschools.org. To view Report Cards, go to the Student Portfolio, and click on the T1 Report Card, you will then click Print on the Report Card. You will then see a "Request Queued". This should take a few seconds, then the Download button will appear. Click Download to view the Student Report Card.

All first-place winners of both contests will go on to compete at the district level. Last year Macon County was very proud to have a first, second, and third place winner at the district level in the essay contest. LES Fundraiser items will be delivered to the school on Wednesday, October 2nd. We will send out another message once it has arrived and is ready to be picked up. Please do not come before that message is sent out. Please make arrangements to have it picked up that afternoon before 3:30. Thanks LES

Due to the most recent rain and wind forecast, Macon County Schools will be closed today.

Macon County Schools is monitoring the incoming weather bringing potential flooding and high winds. As of now we are on time tomorrow, Friday, September 27. If a decision is made to delay or close, you will be notified by 5:30am. Make alternate arrangements for your children in case of a delay or closing. As always, the safety of your children and our staff is our primary concern.

Buses in RBS are still being held due to the storm. They are anticipated to start running within the next 15 minutes.

The worst part of the storm has passed and buses will now begin to run.
